Robots Designed for Real-World Use Cases — Looking for Real-World Users!
Robotics for Supporting Learning, Well-Being, and Daily Life
Join the SARAI Lab (Social Assistive Robotics with Artificial Intelligence) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) for European Robotics Week (ERW) and discover how socially assistive robots are being developed to make a real impact in real lives — supporting children and older adults across education, health, and everyday living.
Our research spans all age groups, with interactive exhibits and live demonstrations showcasing how robots can:
- Encourage children's self-disclosure and detect bullying cases in schools. (Draw My Life with PixelBot).
- Foster language and cognitive development for kindergarten children (Robot-Mediated Activities with Pepper – “Sound Game” for listening to environmental sounds, and “Cloud Game” to discover rhymes),
- Support children with chronic conditions in learning self-management (Help Me Help You),
- Enable older adults to age in place through adaptive, Theory-of-Mind-based assistance (Living Life to Your Fullest)
We are also looking for participants!
Visitors of all ages are invited to learn about our studies and discover how they can take part in shaping the next generation of robots.
